So I may be opinionated about a lot of things, but oftentimes I try to look at both sides of an issue, really, I do. So after having my mind blown by all these 9/11 conspiracy theories I decided it was a good idea to try and see the arguments against the theories, the debunking.
First of all, I would like to inform 9/11 conspiracy debunkers that it does not serve you to attack people who suggest the attacks were not as they seemed. You are allowed and encouraged to disprove these theories, that is how scientific research is done- you try to prove AND disprove something. So for a lot of “debunkers” out there, do a little research to prove some actual points- don’t just attack people who suggest something different than from what you believe. I watched some Penn & Teller video on YouTube and while I do not always refer to P&T for political and social commentary, the video is a good example of how a lot of people react to 9/11 Truth movies/ supporters.
So anyway, after sifting through the hateful and factless rants of people who believe the government’s explanation for the attacks, I found a couple of debunking sites, including one on the popular mechanics website. It wasn’t as interesting as a documentary with creepy music playing in the backgroud, but it did show other (more politically favorable) theories. Still unaddressed though… and I have to do some more hunting… but so far I have not seen anything about the cuts in the steel supports, the drills the military was apparently doing (staging the exact same scenario), Al-Qaeda being funded by the CIA, what pulverized all the concrete and building materials that made up the towers, 40 million going into the Clinton investigation versus 600 thousand going towards the WTC investigation, and I could go on.
It seems that the debunkers only go after the most extreme and unbelievable theories. I may think there is something fishy going on, but I don’t believe that the planes were actually missiles, that passengers on the plane were specific people the government wanted killed, that no Jewish people showed up to work that day, or that the planes never crashed at all. I am also not convinced of the “reasonable” explanation of building 7’s collapse, and I certainly do not buy the “pancake theory.” I’d like to see a move that really goes after disproving more of the points made in Zeitgeist (which I feel was a pretty fair and researched film). I’m sure there is information out there, and I’ll keep looking.
Whatever you think about 9/11, you should look at both sides. I don’t go along 100% with any one of the many conspiracy theory movies…. but there is SOMETHING suspicious going on. Something was weird about those attacks, and we are not seeing all the information. I don’t see anything unusual with being suspicious of our current government, they have made a lot of decisions that are questionable, been caught in blatant lies, and are ruling with and iron fist- what they say goes and they make it clear that they don’t really care what anyone else thinks. Whenever I catch the President “explaining” a controversial decision, I can’t help being reminded of my childhood- begging for sleepovers on Friday nights and when asking my mom why she said no, she responds “because.” I didn’t buy that explanation then and I don’t buy it now.
So I’ll keep looking for both sides of the argument… but I’ll admit that I lean towards secrecy in the administration, and certainly believe that there are things going on that people do not want us to know about.

I really like this posting.
For me, the single aspect of the conspiracy theories that should be looked at is the way the buildings fell. They, in my mind, DEFINITELY fell in such a way that suggested explosives were set in the building.
Plus, how was the lobby of the first tower hit blown out? The plane hit so high up, there is no way that the explosion could have caused damage that far down…plus, there are reports by several rescue workers of secondary explosions…big ones.
But like I said, I like this posting. Its always important to look at all sides of every debate.

It should be noted that the verbal abuse goes both ways.
Accusations of being a ’shill’ or ‘paid off’ or told we’re not doing our research, etc… are fairly common, and insultingly dismissive.
Back to the subject at hand, however. Having studied and worked in the civil engineering field for a time, and having read the conclusions of the reports, and having read some persuasively worded work by those who believe in the government’s responsibility for the event, that:
The most plausible and probable conclusion is that two planes crashed into the towers, which 1) shook loose and blew away fireproofing from the steel floor joists whose fireproofing had already deteriorated with time 2) knocked away support columns redistributing the load to the remaining columns and 3) ignited widespread office fires.
This in turn caused the unprotected floor joists to heat differentially, causing the lower chord to expand faster than the upper chord. In other words, severe sagging. The sagging then pulls and draws in the exterior columns. The deformation in the (now heated, weakening, and overloaded columns) causes a “force couple” which introduces large bending forces to the mix.
When the combination of these elements finally overwhelms the capacity of the remaining columns to hold up the structure above, the top portion comes crashing down onto the lower portion with tremendous kinetic energy, the force of which is much greater than the residual capacity of the floors below to resist with any earnest effect.
The result is a rapid collapse. Not at free fall acceleration (the video clearly shows debris accelerating ahead of the collapse progression) but very rapid nonetheless.
I have seen the pictures you’re referring to of the cut columns. In my estimation, these are not the results of demolition explosives, or thermate. The cuts show copious amounts of slag around the cut, indicating torch cutting of steel. Demolition explosives utilize concussive blasts, not melting steel, to sever columns, and thermate melts vertically, not very useful for cutting across a column. The most logical conclusion is that the cuts were made during the rescue, recovery, and cleanup operations that followed thereafter.
