I’m back
After a brief hiatus (travelling from my home in Canada back to my parents’ house in Chicago to start the dreaded IMMIGRATION PROCESS from here) and a general lack of material, I am back to my blog. I was also a little pissed about some nasty comments I received here- defending Kat Von D of all people! But then I realized that if I hate Kat Von D, then I probably hate her fans too- therefore, I do not have to give them the time of day AND I can delete whatever comments I want to! So HA! If you want to write something nasty just don’t bother, because it will be deleted.
Anyway, I’m back, working at my old job (at a Floral Shop), living with my parents once again, and getting all my papers in order to send in to the mysterious Canadian Immigration office (I imagine that it looks like the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz, and instead of the floating head of Joel Grey it’s Stephen Harper). So begins the final chapter of my immigration journey and the second book of “I’m too old to be living with my parents”
… Let the games begin!

Survey, 2008 Presidential Election
I usually get my information regarding presidential candidates from NPR, the Internet, and- as a last resort, television. As a result, I’ve decided that Ron Paul is my favorite candidate because he has made it clear that as President he would consider himself morally and legally bound by our Constitution, a principle that- after the current administration- I feel is incredibly important. He does not make any decisions without considering how they qualify under our founding document.
I’m wonder who you are currently favoring, why (answers like- ‘I get a good feeling,’ or ‘they seem like a decent person’ do not count in this survey), and where do you get your information from?
No arguments here, I’m just curious!
Please offer your thoughts, I respect what the internet community has to say because I feel like this is one of the few mediums that is not biased or censored!
Thank you
P.S. After living in Canada for a while I see that our upstairs neighbors are sometimes interested in US politics too- so I invite your comments as well! IF you could vote- who would you pick?

The Dude Is Even More Cool Than I Thought
Oh Internet, when will you ever cease to amaze me. I have only scratched the surface of your surface and don’t have enough hours in the day to fully utilize all the goodness you offer.
Sick! I need a life and a job!!!
I just want to take a moment to tell everyone (all 4 of you) about the coolest website I’ve seen all week. You probably already know about it, like my husband, but just in case:
Digg had an article about the worst celebrity blogs, and a brief synopsis explaining why they suck. On this suck list, they include Courtney Love (which, I have seen her blog, and yes it does in fact suck), Roseanne, Rosie O’Donnell, Lily Allen (who I guess talks about what her shit looks like or something), and Fred Durst.
Mixed in with these crappy celebrities and their crappy blogs, ranked equally sucky, was Jeff Bridges and his blog. Immediately I exclaimed “The Dude has a website! I’m there!” and clicked the link, www.jeffbridges.com and for the next three hours was engulfed in a sea of incredibly interesting movies, sculpture, Jeff Bridges artwork, stories with lessons, music, and an assload of flash art. It was so cool, I can’t believe that article on Digg had the nerve to criticize it!!
If you have an extra 3 hours to kill (I did because my husband was doing stupid homework and watching tv is apparently distracting- go figure) then you should check out this site. I’m biased because I am one of the biggest fans of The Big Lebowski, and have convinced myself that that was Jeff Bridges just being himself, and have modeled my life in The Dude’s image (sad, but true- roaches burning in my lap while driving, bowling, and hideous clothing), but really, I was impressed.

Bomb Shelter
I’ve always liked the idea of having a secret control room. I would probably just do the exact same thing I do now (drink coffee, explore the internet, listen to the radio) but I just feel like it would be cooler if I was doing all that underground. My husband and I have this life goal to someday end up with some mountain property and a modest cabin-like house. We’ve already added on a greenhouse, pottery studio, and marijuana garden so I don’t see why we can’t have a control room too.
What I would have in my control room:
-
My computer, except the screen would be inside the wall- Or I could join the rest of the world and get a flat screen.
-
Blue and purple lighting (to give it a secretive feel- maybe blue and purple walls and regular lighting, I don’t know).
-
A huge world map- on this map I would place push pins into various countries I plan to visit/ have visited.
-
A laser pen (so I can point to the map when sitting at my computer console).
-
Glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling, accurately replicating real constellations (I just happen to like those glow in the dark stars wherever I go).
-
A coffee maker.
-
A telephone that only dials out.
-
Miscellaneous conspiracy items- books, an “I Want to Believe” poster, an alien assistant, newspaper clippings, etc.

I just feel like this would really go well with the rest of the place (in our heads) that we’ve planned out. And I could continue with my usual plotting without being bothered. I would maybe let people into my control room, but there would be strict requirements and a cornea scan.
